At AMSD, experimental methods (measurements) and theoretical investigations (simulation) are not in competition with each other. Rather, we try to combine the "best of both worlds" in order to efficiently evaluate and improve the product properties required by our customers.
In contrast to simulations, measurements enable the recording of all actually existing influences and enable objective and subjective fine-tuning of the investigated system.
AMSD has mainly know-how in the planning and performing of driving dynamics measurement campaigns (acceleration, yaw rate, steering and roll angles, suspension travel). For these investigations we use inertial measurement equipment with real-time kinematic GNSS technology (RTK). For railway vehicles we developed a measurement unit to measure the relative kinematics between bogie and vehicle body.
